I am chinese, after about 20 days, the chinese traditional holiday-Spring Festival will come.In Sping Festival,we celerbrate the turn that one new year is coming with one year has been going in many ways, such as letting out firecrackers,to be said,in order to expel terrible monsters ,eating dumpling, keeping watch at night and so on.
However, these traditions are becoming forgotten with the civilization of humankind. Now to protect enrivonment and keep safety, letting out firecrackers is not permitted. The vibrant sound of firecrackers only can be kept in mind.
Is the old traditional still mentained in your country?what about your opinion at the traditions?

Of course in India the old customs are being followed religiously. Our lifestyle are modern and we are on par with ant western country in modernity. But the age old deep traditions that makes us something special. We are very lucky to have the best of both. All our festivals here celebrated with traditional style.

Yes some old traditions are still being practiced in my country. Some of these are what we call fiestas, done in honor of some patron saints. I don't think we can do away with it being a predominantly catholic country. I doubt whether the young generation knows the reason behind these celebrations. For them it's just a good time for fun and celebrations with friends and relatives. One negative effect of this is some families are forced to go in debt just to be able to prepare something in case people will come to their houses. They must have food prepared for everybody.
