The problem with the Parent-in-law

My mother in law had several times reprimanded my wife (his child personally)was caused by my wife according to him more paid attention to me than him. My parent in law want to,my wife more paid attention to him moreover since was remained his husband. The characteristics of my wife were indifferent whereas the parent in law is felt was touched on. How my attitude and the wife faced the parent in law's attitude like that ? it would be better if we leased or continue to house with the parent in law? Whatever that must be given precedence to by my wife,my wish or his mother's wish
