LOST Bestfriend

Just recently, my mom told me that my bestfriend's dad is on currently in coma for a vehicular accident and that we should go visit them in the hospital. i was thinking about it and i seem to feel awkward thinking about the visit. she was my bestfriend during high school and grade school but our friendship seemed to drift off when we were in college since we both took up different courses. i must admit i got jealous when she introduced another friend as her bestfriend in front of our group and i really felt left out. i didn't tell her about this and i just let time pass by and the more we seldom talk to each other and the more we become strangers. i'd really want to go to the hospital to visit. i just don't know what to say. hope you can share some insights on this situation.
