Does anyone else out there miss the X-Files?

I was flipping channels last night and came across an episode of the X-Files. It was from the last season, and Dana had just gotten an e-mail from Mulder, telling her how he missed her and wanted to come back to her and William.
I loved the way the show was going, and have to admit to crying a bit while watching the last episode. I wish they would bring it back and continue with the story where they left it. I would love to see Fox and Dana as a couple and have Daggett and ... god, I can't remember her name! Anabeth Gish's character on there too! I think it could have only gotten better with age.

"The X-Files" is my favorite show. I also have fond memories of the night it premiered because that was the day I moved in to my house. I'd just finished moving in my clothes and making my bed with my brand new sheets and comforter, and sat down on the bed to watch some TV and there it was.
I'd given up hope of ever finding a well-written show on network television, and The X-Files restored my faith that it could be done. Fun, spooky, entertaining, intelligent, and with David Duchovny and Mitch Pileggi to look it, how could it not be great? :)
IMO, there are only two television shows worth owning on DVD: The HBO prison series "Oz" and "The X-Files." It just doesn't get better than that.
BTW, Monica Reyes is the character played by Anabeth Gish.

Oh my god I loved oz. I watched that from beginning to end. I also liked Carnivale. I thought that was pretty good, along with nip tuck.

I don't think I really miss it . it was a good show but now there are so many new ones to choose from ..Plus I always wanted to see the two of them "get together" and I never did ...so it spoiled it for me in a way ...lol
I have to have my romantic ending ...lol

They did get together on the Series Finale. It was a VERY romantic ending. We also discover that baby William was actually conceieved as a result of an affair between Fix and Dana rather than from artificial insemination as many of us assumed, or alien implantation.

I used to watch every episode or at least record it to watch later .. I think it ended because the principles wanted too much money to carry on doing the show or something similar ... maybe they could start a new series with a new team in place .. after all in real life investigation teams do get replaced with new people don't they .. perhaps if we were all to write to the makers of the programme they would see sense and get started on a new series ..
Seemes to me all the programmes I've really enjoyed over the years have ended 'too soon' .. and the programmes I can't stand go on for years and years and years hahaha !!!

Actually, David Duchovny had gotten burned out and left so he could do other projects and have time with his family. He'd said that if Chris Carter had used Mitch Pileggi's character (Skinner) more, that would have given him a break and he probably could have stayed with the show longer. So he left and the show did bring in "replacements" of sorts for him and Gillian Anderson (even though she stayed through the series' end) played by Anabeth Gish and Robert Patrick, who were really good.
I don't think they'll ever revise the series, but if Chris Carter and Fox can settle their legal differences (they're currently embroiled in a lawsuit), there will be a second X-Files movie (and hopefully more).

Absolutely loved The X-Files and never missed a single episode when it was running on TV. I'm more of a conspiracy fan rather than the supernatural although those are good in their own ways. First 4 or 5 seasons were the best - after that it just ran out of ideas. In fact they dragged it on longer than it should but I just couldn't get enough of Mulder and Scully, so I still followed it to the end.
I wish they'd make a second movie.

I didn't get to see all over the seasons. Which is sad because I really enjoyed the show! And if you look at the seasons on DVD, they are an insane price!
My partner just told me that recently he saw the prices coming down.
So maybe I will get to see them from beginning to end sometime in the future. :)

I love X-files. I just finished watching an episode a bit ago. I watch all the reruns. I wish they were still on. I hate when a really good show ends. Especially one like this where the potential for material is endless.

I haven't seen the X-Files in what seems to be years now. I miss watching it, but didn't realize that they still played reruns of past episodes.
Of course these days I don't get around to watching much tv anymore. Most of my time is spent working and being on the computer.
What channel do the reruns come on?

I know that the sci-fi channel runs them late at night and I believe that USA and/or TNT also air them.

I loved The X-Files. I have most of the episodes on video, and am saving up to buy the DVD box set of the whole series. I also own loads of the books about the series, and the film. I would have loved it to go on for longer, but I think that Chris Carter had done all he could with the characters. It's better to let a series go on a high, than to drag it out, and lose the fans. Anabeth Gish's character was called Monica Reyes, by the way.

I absolutely adored The X-Files. Definetly my favourite show of all time to date. I too wish that they would bring it back, or at least make a movie reunion and have Mulder and Scully get together in it. I loved the way the show was moving towards the end. At least they could do that every few years or so and the cast could continue on doing whatever is making them happy these days.
Having said that, I think it's better that it ended relatively popular, rather than faded into oblivion.
Actually, I was recently in a used book/cd store and somehow managed to stumble across an X Files comic book. Suddenly, me who has never brought or owned a comic book in her life found myself buying it. Just because it was the X-Files. It happily lives with my Season 1 to 8 box sets.

You can count me as one that misses the X-Files. Didn't like the movie.
But, sometimes, late at night, I miss it. Specially the first episodes.
What is sad is that there is nothing even like it (and I speak in mood, ambientation) in tv , at least here where I live.
Good to remember them.

I LOVED the xfiles! I have to say, though, that I thought the writing on that last couple of seasons was not as good as the seasons before. I love the premise of shows like these. I am a total sci-fi, paranormal, thriller, psychological fan! LOL

Personally i don't.
They missed the show up when the best thing about it disappeared. After that the show became boring and story line repeated time and time again, lets go find him "oh what happened to him".. etc
The last one i saw was when the guy found that underground plant we're they believed aliens was hiding. too funny for words..

YES I do
Supernatural is good but not as good as XFiles. It's so scary and so funny sometimes
