what's your ideal vacation -- a lazy day at the beach or a mountain resort?

It's kind of hard to choose between the two but I think I will choose mountain resort for my ideal vacation mainly because I have not gotten the chance to experience it yet. I can only imagine the freshness of the air, the cool temperature, the sight and sound of nature and hopefully a waterfall nearby. But most importantly, the quiet and peace to rest the frazzled nerves after working without a holiday for about 5 years.

As a child, I aways loved to walk along the mountside or through the forests. Now that I am a lot older, I much prefer to walk along the beach. My favourite beach is on the Welch coast and I spend one weeks vacation there avery year.

I love your description of the beach. I love being near the water, as well, and you can look for sea shells, which are so pretty! ^_^ Plus, I love the idea of a lazy day, no matter where it's spent. I really am not that active of a person, and am not into strenuous physical activity, although you weren't suggesting that the mountain resort stay would be that way, I know. ^_^ I do think that I would pick the beach, though, of your two choices. You painted such a lovely picture of what it would be like, that you made me wish that I were there right now! *laugh*

Both are just as great but if I have to choose one ,I'll definitely choose a mountain resort. Where I live, we do not have any mountain resorts, so it will be a novelty and I love scenery and the cool mountain air would be invigorating.

My ideal vacation would be in a beach, as I love the crystal blue water, and loves to see the creek and the fishes on it as well as I would like to witness the uniting of creek water and the sea water in Concepcion, Iloilo Philippines. I would also like to stay in a Bahay Kubo or Nipa hut during my siesta time.I also would like to see those islands in front of me and the water in the sea, for me it makes my mind calm. I also would like to spend my vacation in Concepcion as I could enjoy the simple life there and I can even pick some coconut for a freshing drink. Life would surely not a boring one since I could swim in the sea, visit the creek and look for some fishes, just stay in the nipa hut in siesta time, I could enjoy some buko juice or I could make some buko salad for myself and also I could enjoy the scenery of mountains and island as its visible in such place.

There's something about the waters that attracts me. It's not only the swimming or skinny-dipping (well, i don't know how to swim though), it's the water itself that's giving me that calm, relaxing feeling whenever i see it. Even the trickling of waters is so therapeutic. Sea breeze also helped me to at least tone down my asthma before. Mountain Resorts are good too. Any other nature escapades is okay for me. But like you, the beach is closest to my heart!
