I have seen many members at my lot having a lot of friends in their list ...Are they really usefull & helpfull enough as true friends or they are just "names" ? What do you think ?

I do. You are one of them and I do answer their questions, for the points and because they are in my friend list I thought that's just appropriate.
Some people have too many friends to keep up with their questions and so they don't do that. I only have 5 so it's easy.

When I look at profiles and see someone who has 400 - 500 friends, or even 100 friends, I wonder what the word friend can mean in relation to a myLot experience. I have to conclude it means little or nothing. I saw one profile with over 900 friends!
My idea of friend on myLot is more than a name on a list. Friends help each other. When I log on, I check "discussions my friends started" and respond to those I feel I can contribute to. Because I am on a monthly download limit, and every page is a hefty download, I cannot have a great number of friends. (I do not believe someone with hundreds of friends could possibly respond to their posts) If I have friends on my list who never respond to my discussions, I will delete them, and I expect people to delete me if I don't respond to theirs.
PS I see you are new to myLot. Welcome. I hope you spend many happy hours here.
