There are quite a few songs out there that help to remind me of my childhood each day. I grew up in the 80's so the music that reminds me mostly of my childhood is of course 80's music! I remember listening to artists such as "Cyndi Lauper" or "Corey Hart."
I remember when I was younger & I had lived in Saskatchewan at the time.. I remember we used to always listen to Bryan Adams around the house.. He was one of our absolute favorite artists back then! I remember when he played at the Big Jamboree how we had to stand on top of our car to see him in concert because we we're unable to get tickets back then.. I remember how excited I would get just from seeing him singing on screen at the concert.. haha. To this very day Bryan Adams is still one of my favorite singers..
I also remember loving the song "Life is a highway" by Tom Cochran. I believe this song reminds me of living in Saskatchewan, as living there we're some of the best days of my childhood. I know that every time I hear this song I am reminded of my childhood quite often..
We used to always walk across the railroad tracks to get to the store to buy some of our favorite treats from the 80's.. I remember we used to bring our red wagon with us & my sister would pull me sometimes all the way there & we'd sing this song until we we're blue in the face..
I also remember how my dad used to always sing to me.. "Don't worry, be happy." When it was time for him to take us back to my mom since they we're divorced. I remember crying my eyes out because every time he'd play this song for us.. I knew that I wouldn't be able to see him for quite awhile.. Which always seemed to break my heart back then!
I remember this ever so clearly now as I am so much older & it's become one of my favorite songs to this very day..
I also remember "Sail away" by Enya.. This song also helps to remind me of my childhood.. Especially since my mom used to always play it when we'd go somewhere in the car.. It's amazing how you are able to remember some of the songs from your childhood.. And how to this very day they still remind you of your childhood & those memories you had helped to create..
In conclusion.. As you can see.. There is not just only one song that reminds me of my childhood.. But there a variety of different ones that help to bring me back to my childhood each & every time I listen to there music..
It's amazing how certain songs as you grow older still take you back to memories of your childhood.. And who you used to be not so long ago.. It's amazing how certain songs can make you feel like you we're just a kid just yesterday..
Thanks for allowing me to share! xx
