optical mouse or mouse with 'ball' in it?which one do you use?

in the beginning i used the mouse which has 'ball'.but my friends used to take it out and play with it.soo the mouse got spoiled and was not functioning properly.so,i switched over to optical mouse now and i'm comfortable with it.

i prefer optical mouse..
