Many I think knows Manny Pacquiao, the world's featherweight champion.
You see, he's thinking of running for a public office here in the Philippines - particularly in his place in General Santos City.
What can you say?
Me? I think it's either he's too sure of himself. Or that he is so naive he doesn't feel the people convincing him to run for public office are using him or making a fool out of him.
Public service is not like boxing.
That can you say?

It's enough that Manny gives cash and hands over to his kababayans tokens of gratitude. I appreciate it. If Manny Pacquiao runs, I can partly blame him for not circumspecting the situation. The other culprits would include those politicians, the administration in particular, who prod him to run. Pacquiao can grab all the votes of starstrucked electorates and boost the morale of his political cohorts. I blame the mesia as well for broadcasting and publishing all that Pacquiao has to offer, from his boxing career to daily routine. We'll have more of celebrities turning politician and most are on their way to the higher ranks. There's something wrong with the requirements set by the Constitution on those who are eligible to run. Stricter rules and "logical" ones must be implemented.

Yes, yes, I agree.
His "friends", the media, are all to blame for Pacquiao's probable indiscretion with regards to politics.
Maybe he thought that his motive to help his fellow countrymen can be done by him becoming a mayor or whatever. But what he doesn't know is that it's not that easy.
Let's pray for him that God will enlighten him to look for other ways to help his countrymen. And that God shall send somebody to explain to him that he's not in the right track. Because Manny won't listen to his mother.
Maybe Freddie Roach can do that. Unless he's also a cockroach trying to squeeze all the good from him.

haha... I love the term. "Cockroach"... You can't see them in broad daylight. Indeed, a lot of those political activities are concealed from the public. We cannot be certain about what's happening with Pacquio and the other politicians who try to lure him.

Yes, yes, what you say is true. Really very very true!!!
There should be some logical and reasonable requirements for people to run for public office. NOT JUST BEING ABLE TO READ AND WRITE.
They SHOULD KNOW whatis in the environment, the rules, and many more. Not just what they want to do. Or is it?
