how's that? a parent requests the school to give the child a few lashes as she cannot discipline him. then when the school decides to act on it she turns around and accuses the teacher of 'abuse'.1stly, she should learn to discipline her child herself and secondly, isn't it scary to think that today schools still carry out corpral punishment?what do you think?

About that, I think it is ok if the parents really want the teacher to punish their child. But not to hit them so bad, I mean it is illegal for the teacher to hit a child right. If I am the teacher, I will not adhere to the parent's request. But if you will analyze the situation further, I think the child who's very naughty at school might have some problems at home that's why he/she acts that way.

thanks for your response. i too as a teacher would not adhere to the request and perhaps suggest to the parent, to try other methods of discipline on the homefront. encouraging teachers to use such methods for discipline is almost cowardly. you cannot come right on the homefront,so you request something which you know is illegal. just wrong!

Well, if she gave the school permission,I don't know how she can say something about it now, unless the child was left with bruises or something....
