I had a bad experience. I was leaving my 8 months old child with a baby sitter. At the time of leaving she cries a lot. We leave her at 7.30 am. I come back from office at 7.30 pm. When I go to the baby sitter to pick up my child, she used to just sit like that. She never smiles or come to me. When I call her she just come to me without showing any feelings. In a week four or five time the baby sitter used to phone and call me telling that the child is sick. After that we left that baby sitter. After coming home by 8.30 she used to become alright. We came to know that the was putting tobacco in the milk and used to give the children because the child sleeps nicely without making any trouble. This is my experience, what about you?

When my son was 2 and a half years old, I had switched sitters because my sitter was falling asleep when sitting. And when I picked him up, he was filthy and starving! But I went from one bad situation to another. Because not long after switching sitters, my son started loosing his hair. He looked like he was under chemo-therapy! I took him to the doctor many times but they could not find anything wrong. After 4 months of my son being watched by this sitter...I received a call that he was injured. He was in the hospital in traction for two weeks. A body cast for 2 months. Not allowed to walk for an additional two months. And then had to learn to crawl and walk all over again. From what the doctors explained...he was loosing his hair because he was under so much stress from that sitter. Well, I took a lot of time off from work while he was recovering...and yes, his hair started to grow back! Now, I am a stay at home mom. Even though it has been a couple of years...this is the first year without any post traumatic stress disorder nightmares! And...the first year he is happy again. I don't think he remembers it. But...I also don't want to ask.
