We do take our dog on vacations to my inlaws with us, he is welcome there. We also take him on errands if weather permits, not too hot or cold to stay in the car for a few minutes. We do not take our dog when we go to visit friends or relatives that don't welcome him. That isn't fair to them or to our dog. He is very much a part of our family and we love him dearly but even an older child likes to have some alone time so maybe our dog might enjoy that now and then too. :)

when we only had one dog we would take her with us everywhere we went but we really didnt go places that she wouldnt be welcome. she passed away about 4 years ago and now we have 3 dogs so its not really practical to take the whole crew out often. besides, only one likes to go for a ride. one gets car sick and the other is just petrified. dont know why because we always try to make it a fun experience but my dogs are rescues so you never know what situation they come from.

we have a very small dog and she goes with us a lot. She travells well and she has a "purse" that she rides in. Very few people actually see her and she loves to get out of the house. We only take her places where dogs are allowed, and she is a great traveller because of it.
