I don't understand. Christ is God's son but also a part of God, how does that work? And where does the Holy Ghost come in? Do they have different jobs to do? How connected are they? Why is the Holy Trinity only a Catholic concept? What is the relationship of Christ to God in Protestant teaching?

look at the trinity this way
to my mother I am ---------a child
to my children ------------a parent
to my husband I am --------a wife
yet I am but one person Myself!
trinity
is God the father
is Jesus the son
is the holy ghost (or spirit)
but is still just one GOD!
three aspects of one person!

I dont believe in the holy trinity or equality of the three. God, the Father is the greatest.
These verses may help you:
Jn 17:1-12
Jn 2:49
Apocalypse 14:1
Jn 8:16
Jn 5:18
Rom 8:16

No! God, the Father, is "the only true God." (John17:3; Mark 12:29) Jesus is his firstborn Son, and he is subject to God. (1 Corinthians 11:3) The Father is greater than the Son. (John 14:28) The holy spirit is not a person; it is God's active force. - Genesis 1:2; Acts 2:18

First of all I am no expert and sure others will explain it better but the "Holy Trinity" refers to the 3 different forms of God - all one but different. A few years back a pastor explained it to me this way: he started with an ice cube and placed it in a coffee pot, as the pot warmed the ice turned to water, when the water boiled it started to turn to steam. It was all one thing but in different forms.
I also should mention the Catholic church is not the only church that believes in the Holy Trinity - I know for a fact Baptist and Methodist (I am one) also believe.
