Bugs Bunny and company: Aren't they violent?

Looney Tunes is meant for children, right? Actually my son loves watching Bugs Bunny and company, but sometimes I get to doubt whether they are really meant for kids because of the "violent" scenes, when characters begin hitting or shooting each other. Are there still other parents out there who feel the same way, or am I just over reacting?
