HA HA! Great question. I remember this clearly, as my husband will NEVER let me forget. I made spaghetti (Never cooked before in my life) It was so undercooked,it was crunchy! Like a trooper, he ate it! 11 years later, and I love to cook, and am a good one if I must say.

Ha,ha. Yes he does love my cooking. But I think he has to...He can't cook. His idea of cooking is Applebee's. LOL

I can't remember very well but it must be one of those simple things like frying an egg or maybe cooking rice. I remember I could never put in the right amount of water and it ended up like halfway between rice and porridge. In the end, no one ate it except poor me.

good pie crusts - There are secret to a good pie crust
The first dish that I remember cooking was a pie and I was about 10 or 11. I don't remember what kind it was but I remember the crust I was trying to make. I was living with an aunt and I wanted to make a pie. She was visiting with her friend next door and she was telling me what to do for the pie crust. She told me how much flour and shorting to use and mix up. Well it just wouldn't hold together and just wasn't working at all. Finally she came home to see what I was doing wrong when she spotted the baking soda on the counter. I thought she said baking powder instead of shorting. Well you know the results was no pie crust from that mixture. I had to start all over but I learned to alway read and recheck before adding any ingredients. I don't remember any thing else about the pie

I had cooked sweet and sour chicken with rice. The secret was I used the Uncle Bens sweet and sour sauce and claimed to everyone I made it myself. Obviously nobody believed me but pretended they did so as not to offend me! hehe.....I must have been around 14 or so!
