Infertility...Adoption HELP WE need advice / myLot

If you have adopted or have had any experience in the CPS system or if you are adopted please help! We just want to know what to do to get started on adoption.

The very first step is to find a good, respected adoption agency in your area. Most of them are free for the adoptive parent until you find the child that you wish to adopt, then there are legal fees.. etc. If I had any advice for you, it would be to seek out an agency first.

Have you been to your local Department of Human Services yet? DHS usually has good information on adoption services and may offer training courses or have children to adopt available. I know a friend or mines cousin adopted a newborn from a teenager and the DHS helped set it up. I believe that it was free as well. Might be something to check into.
