the change of orientation

I realized that lately most of football teams are playing only for result. I mean that I rarely watch a team which showed a strong character and beautiful skill on playing the ball. It seems that most of teams now are truly seeking for result. What do you think? am I right or it's just my imagination. PS: I'm proud that Manchester United is not one of them who playing with so many tricks =)
