Mylot Notifications Very Late?

Is anyone else getting their notifications hours after a discussion starts? This is constantly happening to me. I get an e-mail into my mail box, click on the link excited in the knowledge that I'm going to be one of the first to post, and when I get there, there are 16 pages of replies and the discussion was started hours ago. I'm very upset about it.

This happend quite a lot with me. Also, sometimes when I get an email to say my friend has started a discussion and I check their profile to see if others have responded, the discussion doesn't show in their profile. Maybe things will improve with time. It is still early days yet, and MyLot are always trying to improve the site.

yes... some mylot notifications are late... but it's okay... i don't really rely on their notifications because i just read and post right away... by the way... i dont know why it upsets you if you are not the first to post... im just wondering... is it really necessary to be the first one to reply on a post?^^

If I'm the first to post then I don't have to read through everyone elses replies before I post.

I have noticed this a lot the last couple of days, I replied to some responses last night and was only told about them this morning. I thought it was me because I tend to get one notification and go through the whole discussion.
I'm sure it'll be better soon

They are running about 15 minutes behind. Not sure what the problem is.

There are over 64,000 members to this site. I know when I go to "new discussions" they are popping up one after the other, faster than you can scroll through a page. There are a lot of posts being added simultaneously. There is bound to be some backlog.
And sometimes it's just our email providers that are experiencing backlog. There could be any one of a number of reasons. I wouldn't worry about it. Just check "discussions I started" frequently.

Yeah, it's just that discussions taht are started recently are coming in ahead of discussions that have been started hours ago. So, it's a bit odd.

Yes, I've noticed that too so I turned off all the notifications and just log on whenever I can. That way it doesnt clutter up my mailbox too much as well. I logged on to find that the discussion my friend posted was 4 hours ago and there are 5 pages of replies to it. :/

My inbox doesn't get cluttered because I set up a separate folder for all my mylot messages. :)

Well I only respond now to messages coming into my mailbox, but I've noticed that there are discussions started hours ago that come in after discussions that have only been started a few minutes. Extremely odd.

I personally haven't experienced anything like that. I get the notifications and often realise that some people were faster to reply than me, but I don't think it's the myLot system. Maybe you need a new computer or a better Internet provider, dear BittyBiddy ;)

Maybe I do Thomas. It looks like I've a fussy internet provider. It only lets some messages through and others it delays for a while.

This one seems to have come fairly quickly, Posted 1 hour ago (approx), time in my inbox 19.46, time now 20.45. I haven't noticed much difference in time between posting and getting notified. There has been several times when I've received notification, gone straight to the discussion, see no replies, and by the time I post my reply I can be on the second page. Not everyone can be first.

I WANT to be first. :(
No, seriously though, my problem is that discussions that started ages ago come in after discussions that are only recently started.

I get copies of my work e-mails sent to my home e-mail, as I sometimes have to respond quickly if there are computer problems, this also sends me a text message to my mobile phone, I had thought of doing the same with MyLot as well, which would give me the opportunity to respond to discussions quickly. However one of the hospital servers had a problem and sent me an e-mail about it, then another, eventually I got 2,000 e-mails in my in box at home, (luckily I only got around 100 text messages). When I got to work on the Monday I found that I had 70,000 e-mails in my in-box and 30,000 in the out box, and the whole work e-mail system had collapsed. On checking with my IT department there were 350,000 e-mails in the queue waiting to go. Luckily I.T. were able to delete those, but I still haven't been able to delete all those from my e-mail account.
I won't be having MyLot send text messages to my mobile phone.

Sometime it happens to me too, not all the time. It's good if you get the notifiction at time, because if you want to respond to a particular discussion you always want to be among the first one.
At the same time some differnet wrong thing happens here in my lot with different people lol. This days I am getting white pages again after posting something.

I sometimes get those white pages too, usually when I've tried to type a "banned" word into the box. LOL!

I don't find that I found that my email notifies me late as it will pop up about 20 minutes after a discussion has started but at the end of the day it does not bother me if i am first or not cuz at the end of the day giving my opinion means more to me than where i am on giving it. I cant understnad people being upset about it though

Well, if truth be known I was being a bit over dramatic when I said I was upset.

Well, all systems have bugs sometimes, and this just happens to be one of them. While it might be annoying, there really isn't anything that you can do about it.

Haven't noticed that. It is a problem. More glitches that Management is needing to address. Seems like this stuff happens a week or two before they pay us. Not sure what they do to supervise this site, maybe they need some help? Hope that that we can get this place a grand happening place that we can all enjoy!!
You know that is a problem when the topic we respond to has been picked for best response.

The weather is causing all sorts of havoc on the internet. Yahoo recently sent out a notice stating this and that some mail and posts on their networks might be later than the time posted. Its true, I receive emails quite later than they were orignally posted, but at least I got them!

I haven't encountered that problem yet. I usually get the notification within a few minutes of the post being started.
