Is a forum good to learn a new langage ?

Hello , I would like to know your opinion about the fact that you can learn a new langage using a forum or a wiki. Is it a good way to learn with efficient. Personaly, I have learn english (I am french) with this and it is very interessant to practice concretely a langage. What do you think ? Tell me please a lot of ideas because I would like to organize a new system to learn for my children . Thanks and have a good day.

mylot is an exemple. many people on mylot don't come from english speaking countries. So it's a good way to learn more about a language. But a forum isn't enough. For exemple, how will you pronounce a word? with only a forum you won't be able to learn the good pronounciation...
