i have tried recently what they called fried ice cream.
yup seems weird right.. but i know they dont' really fry it..
but it sure looks like they are frying it..
they have a "frying pan" then when they pour the cream-like solution it makes a smoke and it turns to solid.. then turns to ice cream.. it's amazing! i know that the pan could be too cold and it freezes right away just as the cream or solution touches the pan.. amazing right? do you have any idea how this happens?

I have never heard of this . Definitely something different . Does it taste like ice cream or something entirely different ? I am not sure I would be willing to try something like this as I am not the type to try something different or new .

I like the fried ice-cream. It's cold inside and hot outside. Basically it's just a scoop of ice-cream wrapped by fried dough. I am not sure how they do it exactly, it's like wrapping a scoop ball of ice-cream with flour and fry it. The time of frying the dough should be very accurate before the ice-cream inside got melted.

I've tried fried ice cream but it wasn't made the way that you described. It was a scoop of ice cream dunked in light batter and then deep fried so the outside is hot but the inside is cold. sorta like ice cream bun. Not something that I like. However , I love crepe suzette. If you can give that a try. it's a scoop of ice cream with a thin crepe on the bottom and grand marnier poured all over it. It's served flamed too.

Yes, fried ice cream is ice cream that has been put in deep freeze well below the normal temperature for ice cream. Then it is rolled in breading or batter and then deep fried like hopefoo said just so the outside is hot but the inside is cold. Then the fried batter shell may be sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. I have not tried it but I want to.
I love crepes and really want to try crepe suzette as well. Though Wikipedia and a friend of mind do not describe crepe suzette as having ice cream on it though that part sounds cool too!

I have never tried your kind of fried ice cream, although my children have a favourite dessert when we go to a Chinese Restaurant. It is like a cake with ice cream inside and then they pour some liquid over it and light it up! It looks good and tastes good too!

Yup, tried it, yes yummy esp with toppings. Though it is not natural unlike those traditional made ice cream. I make my own ice cream, yummy! I love ice cream.

Yupe I love fried ice cream. Well, basically when it comes to ice cream, no matter how you do it, I just love them.
I don't know how they fried the ice cream, I just know how to eat it.

Never tried that, but Baked Alaska is REALLY good.. it's like an ice cream cake.. but you bake it in the oven. It's awesome, and amazing too. I made it once, I still don't know how it worked, but it did.

When I first saw it in the North Mall I was really curious. I wonder how they do it, well I wasn't really the only one who was staring in amazement I think everyone who passed by took a closer look. It taste like regular ice cream, yeah it's good but the process of doing it is really enterntaining.

YUMMY! Being pregnant right now, and thinking about fried ice cream....I am going to have to get some today. There is a mexican restaurant neaby that has it. It's a chain called Chevy's. For those that have never had it...You have to try it.I can't paste here, but do a search for fried ice cream recipies, and you can get one to make it at home.

I don't know where you have had fried ice cream but this is much different from the fried ice cream I have eaten. When I have had fried ice cream, it is really fried. It is usually scoops of ic ream covered in some type of batter, then deep fried to make the outside crunch. My fave is fried red bean ice cream at the Sushi place near my house.

oh.. i haven't tried this one.. but i have tried somewhat similar to that.. but they called it fried milk. :)
this one is liquid solution.. like fluid.. then they pour on a pan then solidifies right away..then they have to scrape it up :) then it's really cold! :) it's not hot.. and not crunchy.. and it melts :)

I never had tried it yet. But I would love to try one, I'm just crazy about ice cream. And this new scheme is very interesting. Thanks for the info, I'll have to search it here in my community.

Nope. But it's really interesting.
I saw once in the mall and
many people were really buying it.
I got curious and go to that stall where they sell fried ice cream, then I saw that the line was so long. I tried to buy but I was so unlucky it got out of stock already. I haven't tried it until now. Too bad...I want to try it.

i just find that utterly disgusting. Why take something that is already so full of fat and calories and make it even MORE atery-clogging?
