I don't put down christians however I have met some that I really didn't agree with. Forcing your beliefs on someone else is a real pet peeve of mine. I find it very rude to ask about a person's spirituality unless I know them very well, it's a pretty personal question. I recently attended a church where my brothers were recieving an award and I was appalled at the way the congregation conducted themselves. They were incredibly racist and sexist and spoke casually about sending missions to a nearby reservation even though they had been asked not to several times. I know that that is just one church in many and hopefully not representative of all christians but it really upset me. I wish that we could all be less combative when it comes to spirituality, it's supposed to be what gives you peace and for a lot of people it's more like a chore. It's sad.

not really jelous but i think its bec they don't understand us and they tend to criticize us. i would say that those kind of thinking is brought about by satan's lie and that's what we have to guard ourselves of that is why we need HIS words =)

Probably because some Christians like to force their beliefs on others, and that's just really annoying. I hate it when Christians think that it's their way or the highway.

Well I guess I could ask "why do some Christians put down Non Christians? are they jealous of us?" ;-)
Like its been mentioned, religion is a very controversial topic and I think the Christians that get put down are the ones who are fanatical fundies...the type that REFUSE to accept the fact that there are FAR MORE religions out there than just Christianity and ALL are just as valid...

There can only be one Truth and God is the Truth. We spread the love of God because we have been touched by His love thru His Son, Jesus Christ. We are not to keep Him to ourselves, but spread His Word and love everywhere.
Jealous of a non-believer? No indeed! Pity them? Yes. They are missing out on the greatest joy ever and the Promise of Eternal Life. One day it will be too late and you never know when that will be.

I tend to look at it in three ways.
Firstly, a reactionary attitude. Some people have encountered supposed to be Christians who are shoving their beliefs down their throats. This may include friends or even parents.
Secondly, pride in one's own beliefs. Some easily switch to a combative mode after hearing the word "christian" feeling that it is a threat to his own beliefs (or non-belief)
Thirdly, spiritual battle. This was already told long ago. People will persecute you and say all manners of evil againt you in my name's sake. If Christians are persecuted in the name of Christ they are blessed. This doesn't include those who are persecuted because of their own wrong doings and and ungodly attitudes to people, which unfortunately does happen.

I don't think it has anything to do with jealousy. I think it has to do with the fact that they have their own religion and are sticking up for what they believe in. Religion is a controversial topic and if you bring it up, you should be prepared to back up your arguments for you beliefs.

Well there is only two spirits in this world and that is the good or the bad.heaven or hell,Jesus or satan...I have always been of the opinion that whatever is not of God is of the Devil,so you can figure that one very easy..Every good thing comes from God,every bad thing comes from the devil...so if someone puts u down ,is that Godly? see what I mean?

It could be both. In general, people don't attack anybody verbally or physically just because we have different views. Something prompted them to do so. Jealousy or envy is one of the 7 deadly sins and sure evil has a lot to do with it. I don't think this happens to Christians only, but to everyone of any religion who worship God.

Religion is controversial.it's not about people being jealous or satan's lies or evil spirit or anything of the sort, people of all religions are called names and descriminated against because other people dont understand thier religion and judge them on the actions of some people who claim to be of the same religion. If u say chriatians are being put down, what would u say bout muslims?they are being judged based on the actions of a few individuals(i say a few because compared to the wold population of muslims which is in the hundreds of millions, the ones causing all this unrest are just a handful)and are highky discriminated against.(i'm not a muslim)

It can be so hard sometimes when your coworkers act like they hate you.
