If a man rapes someone do you think it would be ok for the judge to give them the choice to choose either to voluntarily undergo castration or choose a sentence of thirty years in prison with no chance of parole? I think the judges should be empowered this way. What are your thoughts?

I don't think the criminal should have a choice. I think the judge should issue both to a rapist. Castration and life in prison.

I vote for both- Take away the rapists life and his rights..Put him in jail. Take away his dignity.. put him in a rough prison- and be sure to label him a rapist. That way its almost certain he will in return be raped. Let him feel how it is to lose your dignity, lose you freedom, and your safety. I think they should always look over there shoulders- as I'm sure the victim does.
And castration is a plus too- Although alot of rapes are hate crimes they say-- so the rapist will find some other way to terrorize victims.

if i were to choose, i would rather go to prison than castrate me for life. i would not want anyone take away something precious to me. even when i am in prison, they also have some lineancy concerning those needs.

I firmly believe in the eye for an eye. If a man rapes a woman, it isn't just in the moment. It is a lifelong struggle from then on. That man should then have his life taken away as he knows it. Put his butt in one of the hardest prisons, so he can be raped on a daily basis and feel how he made her feel in the first place. Castration just isn't enough in my eyes.

I think a chemical castration should be an automatic, AND a long sentence. Only thing I´d like to add is this:
Many rapists, especially child rapists, have been sexually abused as kids. So more money must be put in to helping rape victims to live an as normal life as possible. So they will not grow up becoming rapists themselves...

I agree. The sentences have to be a lot longer. And I think it's good to be offered the choice. However, I don't think the sentences shoudl be this harsh unless it has been proven that the man has raped more than once. I think if he has raped once, that he shoudl be given a second chance, and maybe put in jail only for at least 5 years, but not castrated chemically.

which ever they give do you think its enough for raping and making a girls life enough..if u ask me then they should b brutually beaten up and make them kick by all animals everyday...and should get only a little food that would make them feel empty stomach...no girls will like their life be taken away without their will..some guy acting like a monster...its really bad to see such kind of monsters between us...

ive always said do unto others as you would have them undo to you. eye for an eye. but having a life in prison with no chance of parole well that takes care of that in itself :)
