Do you think it's ok for the US gov't to raise the fees for imigrants? Under the proposed increases, citizens applying would have to pay $595 to apply instead of the $330 it costs now and permanent residency applications would be raised $905 from $325. These people applying are already strugling to survive don't you think this is unfair?

I think we are in line as well with some other countries with fees. That is not the point. They can raise the fees because the imagrants don't bother applying for citizenship. They stay here illegally because no one does anything about it. Big business uses their labor so they don't report them. The other thing is if you can buy a fake social security number and start a new life why not. I am sorry to say that these fees will never be collected.

Well I took a quick look on the web at a couple of other countries. With the increases we are still either at or below cost in comparision to Canada. With England we are well below what they want in fees. So no I don't think it's unfair. I didn't know what the fees were before this and to be honest I thought they were a lot higher then that.
