I would have to say cockroaches. They scare the living day light out of me. Even as I write this I'm shaking in discussed. I also pulled my feet up. I hate the way they never seem to die. They also show up when your not suspecting it in your face!!

Try palmetto bugs. They are cockroaches on steriods. I swear they are. They are bigger then your thumb and some can fly. They are also called the American Cockroach. I hate them. No matter how clean you keep your house they will still come in when conditions outside are not right for them, too rainy, too dry, or too cold. Ok my feet are up too and I haven't seen any in a while thankfully.

Palmetto bugs are pretty gross. Just think of those other countries, like the Madagascar Hissing cockroach. Bugs in N. America are all small compared to what jungles and rainforests have.
I cannot stand any type of bug in my house.
Earwigs freak me out, they just look SO mean with those mean little pinscher things on their head.
I don't mind daddy long legs though. I have picked them up by the leg and put them outside - they eat mosquitos.
Locusts are pretty bad too.
Her in the south we have cicadas, they make loud noises in the trees.

Cockroaches for me as well. I'm not really scared of any of the creepy crawly things other people are, but cockroaches just get to me.
As a child, one of the places I lived was my grandmother's house, which constantly had roaches. I once put a pop down on the floor there, then picked up to drink, and got a roach in my mouth. I'll never forget how it felt running around my mouth before I spit it out. Bleh.
Also disturbing was how they seemed to want to take baths with me. Even if I carefully checked the bathtub before getting in to make sure it was roach-free, soon after I would start finding them.
I'm so happy there aren't really any roaches where I live now. =)
