There are a few things that I'm finding that helps.
I've began volunteering again at my church doing little things.
It's amazing how a smile and handshake...greeting...brings a lot of joy.
Getting involved in classes or something of interest helps.

I think I might know what you mean. It's a bit of depression, loneliness, and boredom all in one, sometimes it gets paralyzing...just not knowing how to get out of that mode.
Do you have any family to call or go hangout with? Sometimes that helps. What I've found that helps me...is I call my mom or a friend of mine and ask them to keep me in prayer. I don't even have to explain why to them. Then I just give all my feelings to the Lord and start praying too, for myself, others, whatever is on my mind or not on my mind. :) I start reading the Bible and the promises that the Lord says He is with me and he's my refuge, he desires good for me, etc.. After awhile the emptiness lifts and I'm able to get motivated to go do something. Get around people that you care about, just hangout or do something for them and enjoy the little things in life. Being in the travel industry you must meet lots of interesting people and see some of God's awesome sites, wow that's something to talk about I'm sure. Mylot has become another way for me to at least get things off my chest and just share thoughts too.
Hope this helps to encourage you a little. If anything, know that you're not the only that has felt that way. Keep trying to get out of the whole, no matter how hard it might feel. I'll be praying for the Lord to fill that void for you some how too. He knows exactly what we need and will help...when we ask.

When I get lonely I spend time with my boys ~ they are still in school and at home with me. I also do crafting, spend time with my dog, write in my journal, and send email to family and friends. That helps me forget that I am feeling lonely.
