Do you believe the government has the right to step in and perform medical treatment on your children even if it is against your religious beliefs?

what i think according to this isss that govt will and should enter if it knows that if not done kid will loose life or even b handikapped for rest of life...its better for the government to tell than that of leaving it like that only...not needed though if its a minor case...what do you say but now what we see is that no government body will look into this except their own seats:-0

I agree. There was a case here in Canada where 3 babies were just taken from their families to be giving blood transfusions and the parents are Jehovah, therefore do not believe in this. The babies were returned home after the transfusions.

I hope you're right. I have no problem with people belonging to their own religions but when it puts the life of a child at stake, then I see it as a problem, a very big one.

I don't know if they actually have the right but I would not mind if they did. I don't understand wby a parent would not want to do everything they can to save their children's lives even if it means going against their religion. Why would anyone want to be in a religion that is that controlling anyways?

Well in a lot of cases, its better for the children. There are some crazy ideas out there that not only endanger the children but also the general population. The government is supposed ot protect its citizens, so if one set of parents dont want to vaccinate their children which may lead to the outbreak of disease, then its really not fair. The govt here in America doesn't make them vaccinate though, unless they want to go to public schools which is definately for the safety of the community.

yes, they do.the government has its duties to do medical treatment to their people for the good of everyone.they need to do thid especially nowadays because of so many deseases that has been detected. it is also for the protection of everyone whether it would infringe on their beliefs.what if the kid has a contagious desease?

I would say no they have no right. But if this would save the childs life I would approve. The parents are not the child. They might find out that in the future the kid does not have the same religious beliefs as them. You never know.
