How do you prefer to get your books that you read? Do you buy them new in the book store? Do you buy them from a second hand book store? Do you buy them online? Or do you prefer to use the library?
All of the above for me. LOL! Our library even has shelves of books in the basement that you can buy for a donation, amount of your choice. Also, since my father passed away almost a year ago, my mother is clearing house. I brought home 4 boxes of my father's books. They are piled high on a bookshelf in my basement. I don't know when I'll get around to reading them all!

I get my books through the Library. That is my preferece, however on some ocassions I will buy a book. Like when it first is released, and I don't want to wait for the library to order it and get it. Some of the books that I have bought rather then whent to the library are "The Left Behind Series" and all of the Harry Potter Books.

I absolutely love reading and it doesn't bother me in the slightest where they come from... unfortunately i don't have a basement but i've always wanted my own personal library. i find nothing more relaxing than getting into a good book and once it is a good book where it comes from certainly doen't matter!

Bookstore. I rarely buy books however. I usually only buy them for school assignments and things like that. Unless its on a subject I find interesting, then Ill go out and buy the book on my own.

If it is a book that I want to keep I buy it new, unless I can find a good used copy. I like going to a bookstore and looking through books. But if I know the book I want I will buy it online and I usually look at the used copies of the book first. I use the library for books I want to read but do not want to keep and also for audiobooks. I listen to audiobooks when I go on long road trips. They pass the time quickly and I get to hear a new book or an old favorite

In the past I'd go with all of the above. I used to work in a book store - the dream job :-) and over the years built a very large book collection.
Now days, with the price of books and money being tight, I haven't actually purchased a new book for a long time. Though I do occasionally get them as gifts.
My biggest avenue for new things to read now though is online. There's some absolutely wonderful stories out there. I often download them to a pda so I can still read in bed rather than having to stare at a computer screen :-)

The library is the most often used method for me. I do collect certain types of books such as local interest cookbooks and the "Images of America" series when they pertain to the areas I've visited or live in and I do collect the works of Stephen King but for those I usually wait until my local library has it's annual sale or I go to garage sales in the summer. The bookstores, though wonderful places to visit, are just too expensive unless the book is something I'm desperate to have.

I get most of my books from online at http://www.bookcrossing.com its the most awesome concept ever, people from anywhere in the world trade and swap books, you read it then post it to the next person, or relase it into the wild for someone else to pick up. Reading is one of the greatest pleasures there is and with bookcrossing you get to share that love with the world

I am a member of Book Crossing but I haven't had much success with it. I haven't had anyone report on a book I released. I did catch one and logged it just out of courtesy. It wasn't my genre and I had no plan on reading it but the person who released it insisted I read it. I did read it and I was glad I did. It was really very good and funny.

i generally buy either new books or from a second hand bookstore. i love books so i always end up buying atleast 4 or 5. i keep all my books whether they are good or bad so my library is just getting bigger and bigger. my friends stop by all the time to borrow books. hmm maybe i should start charging them ;)

I love to read, but our local library is a little out of the way for me. I normally buy my books second hand from a charity shop and then redonate them when I have finished reading them. That way I get to read without paying full price and the charity benefits from being able to sell the same book more than once.

I would rather go to the library because I don't really like buying books. If you go to the library you don't have to spend any money on a book you're probably only going to read once anyway. I haven't been to the library in a long time but when I go it is hard to get me out of there, lol. I love looking through the books and finding some really good ones that I haven't read yet. I usually check out about 4 or 5 and I also like getting DVD's from the library. :)

I prefer to get in a bookstore or in a booksale. I am an impulsive buyer and I just buy books that catch my attention. If the topics are good and they are worth buying I do not have second thoughts in shelving out money. But the price has to be right and reasonable.

I used to work for a bookstore so I bought SOME books there most of them, and then sometimes I used the bookstore as a place for ideas for future book purchases otherwise. After I left the store I started to buy MOST of my books online like on amazon.com USED or abebooks.com USED too. They are in good shape. I love getting them from booksales at the library or the library bookstore. And on occasion a good yard sale. Oh and thrift stores sometimes have GREAT books at CHEAP prices!
