Do Families Still Eat Together??

My kids are still young, so yes, we do eat as a family. Except though, when I'm working late. I call my wife and tell her to go right ahead and let the kids eat (and if she's hungry as well, she can join them too). When I come home and they're done, wifey does sit beside me and keep me company.

Sure do. Everynight. Not only that but we all help do the dishes after words to. It is nice to all sit down around the table, the best thinkg about it is when my four year old will ask me how my day was. It is so cute. I hope that all family can sit down and spend time together.

We try to eat at least one meal together as an entire family every day. This is difficult as we are a busy family and my husband works a lot. What I do though is lately I'll give our kids a late afternoon snack that will tide them over ... because sometimes to eat with Daddy we have to wait until 7:00! This is rough on the kids, because they're toddlers. But, we do our best so that we have family time together without any distractions.

I live at home with my parents and i still eat on my own as they eat so early, i'm not always at home with them. I eat with them only on a sunday. I must admit i eat completly different food to them anyway. They are stuck on the old english foods. I like something a little hotter.

We only get to eat together when we go out once in a while. At home, my kids and the nanny eat on time. I eat when I want.

Because my husband is getting home so late right now, we eat in two shifts. I sit down and feed my 1 yr old between 5pm and 6pm, then I sit down and have dinner with my husband at around 8/830. Not ideal, but it is the best we can do right now. When we finally get our chairs, we are going to have a Shabbat dinner every Friday, like we are supposed to. I can't wait to start doing that.

no. we stopped when my oldest brother was like 15. the only time we eat together is when we go to restaurants. sometimes not all of my brothers goes with us because one of them is at school and the other doesnt care if my parents wants all of the family together. but we did when we were young heck, we even took turns praying and help put the dishes and spoons and stuff.

YEs, I love it when we all eat together. In fact I eat all of my meals with my children usually at the table. Growing up, we never even had a table to sit at, so we never sat together, except on the rare holiday we had enough money to buy food for a special dinner. Even then, it was awkward and uncomfortable for everyone, seeing how we didn't talk, complete silence with 6 people around a table, it was interesting. But with my family, we have a huge table and talking, laughing and conversing is not only encouraged, but looked forward to. We love the opportunity to unwind together, and we are beginning to teach our 2 year old manners.

We always eat together at dinner time. Sometimes at breakfast too on the weekends. It was something that my parents always insisted on, so now I make sure that we do the same.

Our family eats dinner together every single night. There hasn't been a night we've missed. I'm so glad for that. Sometimes, it's the most time that we ever spend together. My husband works all the time, and I make sure that since we don't see each other often during the day and evening, that we eat supper every night.

My daughter and I make a point of eating dinner together. We also eat breakfast together on the weekend. I think it brings us closer together, but it is hard to battle the interruptions.

I remember when I was young and the Family all ate together. I think that eating together as a Family does not happen much anymore. With all the schedules and things they people do in life I think they forget that Family time is important.

With my family, we eat together every night at dinner time. We hardly ever eat together for breakfast or lunch due to work and school. My boyfriend leaves the house before my stepson even gets up. For awhile we were going over to my son's house every night for dinner. I miss that but we still go over there once in awhile.

With me we still eat together its like a rule that no one can miss family dinner even when we are out, we have a kind of habbit of eating together. Its good only then when parents do not preach while eating!! And we love it too!! But also we had many fights while dinner but one should not stop walking from the fear of falling down..!! so We make sure that dinner will be with family!! And me Iam the youngest member of the family ! if some one is late we wait for them eagarly. Its fun.!! But as im too young I don't know about the future whether we will be together or not or anything else! etc.. But we are happy in our paresent thanx to my parents who made this rule of having our dinner together in any condition! have a nice day.

In our house no. Actually i dont eat there anymore. I'm having this feeling like they dont like me in there anymore since they are ignoring me everytime i go home. I dont feel at ease in my own house and im having trouble spending my time there

Hi!(",) These days my family is not able to eat together because of studies and work.In the morning, everybody is on rush to take a shower and last minute packing of things. Since we are seven in the family,one has to take a bath first while others are taking breakfast. At lunch, others eat in school and in their workplace. In the evening, one hasto eat first because others come home late at night and you don't want to sleep with nothingyour the stomach just waiting for others. In summary, I can't remember the day my family was able to sit together and eat as a one big happy family.(",)I really miss those days when we were younger.

yes.We plan our schedule in such a way that we are home by 9 pm.That gives us half hour to freshen up,catch with news,programmes.

I think the time with my family is the best time after a busy day .
