Hate generally rises from fear, from differences. Humans feel threatend that someone who is different from them could end up making them loose their way of life or bring about a drastic change in their normal way of life, or make them loose their place in their society.
Hate also can be caused by envy, by greed, by priority of one's own agenda over that of the one who is hated.

Sometimes you hate a person if you don't like them or they did something bad to you.
