What is filled in Thermometers??? / myLot

hey all,As u all know that thermometer is filled with mercury..... But tell me what was used before 'mercury'???

Uhmm I don't know about you but where I live mercury in thermometers is banned, becouse it's poisonous.

then what is used in thermometers at ur place???? Even if it is banned now , u agree that mercury was used....so u can answer my question
