Protect Our PC from harmful Viruses ....?

just few days back virus attacked my pc and i formatted the pc and lost many useful data...then this time i was searching for a good antivirus and i read about avast free home edition,i have installe d it in my pc,and i think it is a good option for you all.

Back in 2005 I use norton antivirus but somehow virus get into my pc, change my registry and even disable my norton. Now I use Kaspersky antivirus for almost 6 months now and got no problem with it.

You need to install an anti-virus software and do make sure its on auto update so that the definations are updated as soon as they are released or you can manually update them once a week. I use Symantec Client Security and its very good, however if you are looking for something free then you can download AVG from http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Its free and its the best freeware out on the market. the virus that are mainly attacking our computers are Trojans i usually call them as parasites.they can be removed by using good anti virus software and also this should be updated daily.as prevention s better than cure.virus or parasites attack our system registry and makes the computer performance slow and also some virus send the useful information stored in our computer to the person who send those.virus multiply in numbers.and mostly all virus are send by some really bad sites.transfer of data like by usb pen drive,hard disk to hard disk data transfer some through floppy diskettes etc.virus and also spy wares are more common nowadays spyware is also very common parasite and send out information.so use a good anti virus as well as a good anti spy ware software like avg and spy bot etc..
