Yes, Sydney Sheldon was a tremendous author. www.cnn.com has a great article can't paste yet so don't have the full url for you. He passed Tuesday afternoon at the age of 89.

He was one of the first "adult" authors I read as a young teen. I can't remember the name of the book but I do recall I thought I was so grown up! LOL I do like his style, although I seem to have moved away from his books within a few years of my teens.

I too heard the news. it was really shocking. he is a marvel as a author. the books he have written are realy wonderful and keeps us interested untill the end.

i was shocked when i heard this news. Since i was young i've always thought of sidney as a woman! I didn't know a guy like this could write so well.. could provoke emotions much like a woman could.
