my neighbor has a cat and last summer he was bit by a spider they took him to the vet and he was better..
(by the way he is an out side cat)
then he get a kidney stone or something and they spend 800 on him to get better . this cat has many lives because then her husband backs over him and shatters his jaw. OUCH! would you spend all of that money on your pet that runs free .
i take care of my animals but i honestly wouldnt have had the 800 to make an animal better it would have been hard on me.

I would spend as much as it took to make my animals better, however what I find disturbing about this is that they allowed their cat outside unprotected to begin with. That cat will probably get run over before long. I would want to die if I ever ran over one of my babies.

yeah, I don't understand spending that much if you were not even going to keep it safe afterwards. Makes no sense to me.

I don't have an extra $800 to spend on my pet. I love my pet very much but I don't know that I could have spent that much especially if it's an outside pet.

I know several people who have spent thousands and even more on their pets. My dog is like a child to me, and I would do whatever it takes to make him well. That being said, I do not believe in things like chemotherapy only to prolong his life. The quality of life for a dog in such a situation is usually not good, so why would a torture him?

Without sounding like an animal hater...No, I would not spend that much money on my animal. I know some people have such a strong bond with their animal they wold do anything for it (And I think that is great) It's just we save our rainy day money for "our" rainy days. Now if I could afford it? I am still not sure. It would depend on what was needed.
