Whenever you go to a good quality discussion you will see the almost same member responding to those discussion. Though right now in Mylot we have 65014 members. Only after the discussion make it to today's top discussion list you can see other member responding. Why it is? What do you people think?

Well you must have noticed I've already responded to three of your discussions:) I guess it happens because that person will be on another's friend list and when a new discussion is started and notifications are sent by mail (if the option is on) so immediately friends who get the notification tend to reply if they have something to share. So maybe you see the same people responding over and over on the first few pages of the discussion. With your discussions, I've come across them as a coincidence.

Hmmm that means only from one friend circle those discussions are coming! I am little confused.

Usually what happens is that we only see or view the discusions of our near and dear one, and its human nature that we respond to the same. I agree that u got so many fans but do u visit all of them, or do u search for anyone who is new to this, and if you ask me and to be very honest I'm very new to this and don't no what to do...I was just browseing all the things and saw your comments and thought better repy it, atleast some day I can have friend list like yours

Well I guess in the first instance, if people have a good network of friends, then they will always look at each others' discussions first, and respond to them first. That is why it always looks like the same people respond. Then I guess if enough of them reply to boost the dicussion to the top of the list, then other people will see it, and start to get involved too. I suppose some people do not have the time to delve into the Board too deeply, or look for dicussions behind the front page.

Yes rosie, it is right that every friend first reply to their friend. But about what I am wonder that how come in a huge amount of discussion you see same people responding. Is that means huge amount of discussions are coming from that group only?

well agree with you there are some kind of a social club here as describe by someone this guys only response to their friends topic.you can post quality topics and have 0 response.I dont even see any reason why people talk of quality because some of the topics I see many responses are not realy that good

I don't think that all 65,000,00 are all active, because my refs sure aren't. I also think that is has to do with the group of friends that you have. Mine are very active, so of course you will see more of them. Any other theories out there?

May be Ally active members are a reason. Here are some very regular people whom we can see often.

I think it is because different people look for different posts to reply to in different places... I pick posts to reply to from a lot of different places, but I usually start with the posts that are listed under my interest groups.

People don't really want to take the time to go searching for other questions, they usually take what comes up first, and the places to check for those are in the most recent discussions place.

I really do not know why that is, I will reply to any Discussions where I can respond and which is of Interrest to me, If I am not interrested or do not have a good respond then I will not respond, but I have found that with some of those I can go back a week later and I have been able to respond then.

Maybe that is a friend supporting her/his friends discussions. I know I do. Work right out of email when I have the time before or after my job and keeping the kids homeschooled, etc. We have many members but the circles of friends only overlap so much. I know that I see you around a bit too.

Maybe they are their mylot freinds? I can't say I have noticed, of course most of my posting anymore is done with freinds from my email. I normally don't post off the boards these days.

It's because those people are your friends :). Reciprocity on this board is wonderful. I think the friend relationship on mylot is one of the best I've found anywhere. I know if I post a topic, I will soon have several thoughtful replies. When I'm looking for interesting topics to read and reply to, I have no further to look than my friend list.

I was not saying about my discussion, but the others where I go to respond. Yes that is very true that here in mylot friends are best, you can't find in other community.

Because we use our friends list to repond first then, well for me anyways I shouldn't speak for everyone ... I will go to new discussions after I have responded to my friends ..that is the whole purpose for me to have friends because I like their topics and they are interesting to me ..not silly yes/no discussions that need no thought ..

because once you have many friends lot of time goes in responding to their discussions only leaving less time to respond and search for new topics and friends

That's correct deedee.I think that everybody is not participating on time. Some of them are still waiting to answer other question's and don't know that what have been posted by their own friends. But i have a plan for that which can results.I think that we need to buzz all our sirs as soon as after posting.I think this can result in great discussion.

Maybe because just like me I go first to my friends' discussions to respond to them. When I got no more to post. Then that's the time I go to top discussions.

I'm the opposite, because I don't usually reply to popular discussions. That is, if I post to a topic with many replies, no one will see my comment, so there's no point in posting it :|

I imagine this is because they reply to friends discussions .. this is going to make it seem like the same people are posting all the time ... you are one of my friends .. and so I get notification of your new discussions in my email inbox .. I come along and try and make a good reply to your topic .. and I dare say that all your other friends who are active posters will be doing similar things too ... Then when it gets enough replies it pops into the top discussion list and the folks who browse for discussions to reply to will spot it and reply too .. So my thinking is the more friends you have the more replies you might get (depending on discussions topic of course) .. and the more it's likely to get into the 'main channels' for all the other MyLot members to see it ... Just one big happy family :o)

I always reply to my friends first this takes up most of my time on MyLot. I think most people do the same. People just don't really want to take the time to go searching for good discussions so they just stick with their friends. So therefor you always have the same people answering in each group of friends.

I feel like one reason that the same names keep popping up on discussions is because those particular people are looking for the same type of discussions. For instance, I notice that people who enjoy deep, intellectual, thought-provoking questions will all migrate to a particular discussion while those who enjoy simple, state your favorite type quesitons will migrate to another particular question. Then, as others have already mentioned, we tend to answer the questions of our friends first and then move on to other discussions.

Its about the friends and checking on their discussions first, and if you got loads it makes it to the top ones, and then you get the clingers on who want to comment I guess.
