Hi All...Just thought I'd post this, mainly for the folks who've given me information about getting started with associatedcontent.com. I signed up and wrote my first article, about the advantages of satellite radio, in particular XM Satellite Radio, over traditional AM/FM radio, and just got AC's offer...Now, I'd heard they usually pay in the $3-$10 range, so needless to say, I was shocked when I got a $20 offer. Very cool.
If you're a writer, looking for a place to publish for pay, I'd recommend them. A very nice pay-out for the first contribution.

Congratulations! That's awesome, especially for the first submission. I heard that they pay more for tech. articles. Have you had the money deposited into your PayPal account yet? I accepted a bunch of offers from them well over a week ago, and the site states that they deposit withing 3 days. I just contacted them to see what the status of the payment was, and I'm waiting for a response. It would be good to hear that they do actually pay!

No deposit yet; I just logged in and saw/accepted the offer about half an hour ago. Luckily, I set my Paypal account to be auto-confirmed, so I'm told that speeds up the process. I'm hoping to see something by next week.
The good news is, I have other friends here on Mylot who have written for them and say they've been paid as promised.

Ac DOES pay. I've been paid well over $300 for writing for them. Sometimes it just takes them awhile to sort everything out. They've been a bit behind lately however because they're accepting offers a bit late and sometimes paying a bit late. AC's payment schedule is really MWF but that cary vary.

Congrats. AC pays pretty high, I believe their range is more $3-$15, but I know some people have gotten $50 offers. It's possible, the content just has to be really demanded to get better offers.

Wow good for you! I write for this site as well and you're right they normally pay about $5 per posting when you first start out. But, if you write a great article you can make pretty good money. Keep it up!

That is very cool! And congrats on being offered that amount... It is true though that they tend to offer the lower amounts to people, so hopefully, you'll keep getting the better amounts from them.
I just wonder though, how long of an article did you have to write for that, because $20 is one of the lower costs for the smaller articles (I just checked my sold articles, and that price is around 400 words for me) that I write over at Constant Content (http://www.constant-content.com/?aref=2932). In fact, for some of my larger articles, I've priced them at $150 and they've sold.
I think you might want to give this other site a chance if you find that your articles aren't really selling for the prices you think you deserve, because though it isn't immediate payments, in the long run I've found that you can get a lot more money from Constant Content.
Just my observation. Either way, congrats on getting $20 offered, and good luck with your writing!

I'm not sure how long the article was, word-wise...It was three or four pages of content for them though. The title is "Confessions of a Satellite Radio Junkie" if you want to search for it. I've submitted four more articles, just waiting for their offers.
I'll check this other site out. Makes me wish I hadn't marked my article as "Exclusive content" for Associated Content...I'd be curious to see what it'd get me over at Constant Content.

Just wondering, but do either of these places pay Canadians, or is it only US citizens?
Congratulations on selling your first article. Sounds wonderful.
Do they basically only pay for informative articles, or do they pay for anything such as poetry, short stories, etc.??

Wes--
I'm impressed. I don't do techie stuff, but the most I had gotten for an article was $12 for an article about fitness. Maybe I'll pay more attention to that techie stuff now :)
as for payment, make sure you have your account set to auto confirm payments. That way when they try to send money to your paypal account, you don't have to go in and confirm the address every time. I usually get paid for my articles within 3 days...maybe four if it gets approved and an offer on a Friday.
I've made about $600 there since August and just need to finish up writing more.

That is absolutely amazing! I would be in heaven if I could get that much money for one article, but I still feel really shy about trying my hand at writing for Associated Content. I've thought about it, but I still just do not feel like I have any particularly strong area of expertise to write about for the site, even though I know that I have enough skills as an actual writer to write out an article if I could only think of a good subject that I know enough about. Wow.. $20 for one article! Congrats!!!!! ^_^

Thanks for the heads up. I have lots of stories that I want to publish, and get paid for it too? Wow. Is this my lucky day or what. I also used to live in Everett. Moved to Alabama about a year ago. Everett got to be too busy. boeing, the Indian Casino, not to say anything about I=5, at 4 O'clock in the afternoon.
