Rudeness, making you so so angry!!!

My girlfriend has been a member of mylot for months and months, and a few days ago I decided to join too, since it sounded like so much fun. To make it easy to get going I thought, why not read a few of my girlfriend´s discussions, since it will be funny to answer those. Said and done, I have read a few and answered a few, but just minutes ago I got so angry I almost exploded! My girlfriend had started a discussion called "flowers, chocolates or teddy bears". It all was down to what gift you´d prefer to get from a loved one. It was funny reading all the cool gifts people loved to get, until I came down to comment number 37. This guy called y2ksuprio had answered like this: "My girlfriend sruti likes chocolates & flowers so much". My girlfriend´s reply was: "then go spoil her with chocolates and flowers". Then this y2ksuprio replies: "why should I spoil her? Oh I understand u are drunk and gangbanged so u r telling this". Upon reading this I got so pissed off! How abusive is one supposed to be allowed to be? I personally don´t care, but when someone writes this aimed at my girlfriend, I get so mad! I felt like going to Calcutta to seek this guy up! Grr.. Funny thing is, on his page he says: "Faith & trust is my only precious possesion. But don´t hurt me I am a very sensitive person"... So, if so sensitive, why so abusive to others? I am sorry if I am rambling on, but am I out of order to react on this subject? I guess I really wanted to share this to out this guy as an idiot. Thank you!

That guy sounds like a jerk. I hope your girlfriend and you rated his post with a negative. That's what I'm going to do as soon as I finish this post. Please realize not everyone here is like that, but it doesn't seem to matter where you go, there is always at least one spoiled apple in the barrel. Please don't let him immature attitude keep you from posting here. Welcome to mylot, I hope you'll stick around and enjoy posting.

Thank you so much! I think I wrote this post out of two reasons, I wanted to tell the world what a jerk he is, and also, I needed to vent some anger! Thank you so much for your support! It means a lot. And I think he is a part of the bad minority here. Most people here seem to be really cool - like you! And I will stay here posting, positive comments I hope, hehe. Thanks!

yep. right. he's not the only jerk around here. lots and lots of them. and their numbers are growing. yep. we all won't agree on a certain topic. but we can disagree in a right manner. why be rude and get too personal? i think most people here haven't read the terms in mylot. such rudeness can be reported and be acted upon by our moderators. this is a nice and healthy discussion site. let's just discuss things here. there's no need to judge people or add comments that are obviously unnecessary and out of line. people, people, read mylot's FAQs and TERMS first!

threre really are those in here who have lots of fun when they get to hurt others' feelings. sometimes, there are even those who are already out of the topic! maybe they just don't know what they are saying. they just post responses just for the sake that they get to post some and earn points. i (yes, i am the girlfriend of janne_panne) posted that topic 6 months ago. i was still a newbie in this site. and during those times, mylot was still new in the business and still in a long process of development. we can't rate responses back then. all we can do is reply back and that's it. so, we are luckier now knowing that we can rate each others' posts. i'm sorry to know that you felt bad during your first few days here 'be. i was hoping that you'l have happy days here and yet, it turned out the other way. well, as we always say, for as long as we get to have each other, we'll be okey. i love you and thanks for defending me 'be!

Hi Janne-panne! I'm sorry you had this experience! I've in fact JUST posted a similar post about rude abusive responses! I just wanted to mention something though that may explain why he reacted that way. I noticed in one post about a girl who was raped, that, I think Indian?, individuals refer to rape as 'spoiling' a girl. So this may very possibly be a very unfortunate understanding. Anyway, I do hope you stay on Mylot. There are some exceedingly rude people around, but a lot of really lovely ones too! :)

Sorry I meant 'unfortunate MISunderstanding'

Lol! No I don't blame you AT ALL for how you reacted to his reaction!!! I would have been livid! I mean to be truthful, it would have been a rather bizarre thing for your girlfriend to have said in view of the lighthearted discussion, so it's a pity he didn't stop to think 'Maybe this doesn't mean what I think it does?' It is incredible how often these sort of misunderstandings occur though - I immigrated from South Africa (my home language is English), to Ireland, and for the first 6 months or so I had many extremely bizarre misunderstandings with people from different use of words in the two (english) cultures! Some were quite funny though lol! (Luckily nothing unpleasant like what you experienced!)

Thank you so much for your answer! It DID clearify a few things. But I still am a bit upset, hehe. I can understand how someone from an Indian origin would get upset by that word, BUT, in the standard English, spoiled means something else. So I think people should try to see what a person says, instead of just going mental, like I also did. Ooops. Hehe. SO.. Again, thank you very much for making me understand better, but I still think the guy took it too far. And I am sure most people here are nice people! Like you!!!
