Anyone else wish you could hit an IGNORE button for certain members?

I really would like to see an IGNORE button become available for certain members whom we just simply find annoying and ignorant.
There's one woman who logs on under various names and goes off bible thumping. She's not only rude but truly ignorant. It would make the discussions, especially on religion, so much better if you could hit IGNORE for their posts and just keep moving on. I know it's just an online community, but it can still irritate you when you have to deal with someone like her over, and over again.
Anyone else want to see IGNORE available?

I would love that. There is another individual who makes a habit of belittling people who don't agree with his assessment of things. I have made a conscious decision to stop responding to him. My skin is not as thick as I would like it to be. An ignore button would be so much easier.

IGNORE would be a nice button to have here on Mylot, I agree. However, I really am mostly replying to my friend's posts and trying to get caught up on replies to people who have been kind enough to reply to my own posts, lately, so I haven't seen a lot of the controversy that's going on around the rest of the site. So I haven't really needed an IGNORE button for myself lately. But I would like if Mylot could implement such a thing for people who would use it, especially in case my posts ever annoy anyone, as i would much rather that they put me on IGNORE than go around marking me badly. LOL ^_^

Oh, I haven't really had a lot of experience with "bad" posters either, just one person in particular that seems helll bent on making a lot of people miserable. I had no clue she spent so much time under another name and did the same thing under that name until someone told me. Of course you can't prove that so it's heresay. But it's just so much easier to hit IGNORE then to just ignore the posts on your own I guess! lol

That would be an interesting feature to have on here though I have only encountered a couple of rude people so far. I certainly would love to ignore them. Would this feature prevent them from posting to our future topics so that we do not have to listen to anymore from that particular person? Possibly being able to block a member would be a good thought as well.

Yes, I would hope that it would mean they cannot post to those who've blocked. After so many "blocks" the person could be tossed off, even if they make it a huge amount of blocks before they do so.

Well the first thing you need to find out is if this person really does have multiple accounts. If this is true - then you need to report it to MyLot since we are not allowed to have multiple accounts.

I have only see a very few number of people who have been rude on here. I usually only respond to posts that I have under my list of friends. Sometimes I go off to the side and answers others. But for the most part, everyone seems to be nice. I hope that I do not encounter this person, or persons, that you are taking about.

I would so love this- There are days when I log on and see numerous posts from the same person.. And they are all dumb! Drives me crazy-- Its like they post a new discussion every 2 minutes- hoping people will respond- I wish everyone would just ignore them.. That way maybe these people would stop and go and input some quality posts to other peoples discussions.
But then I usuallu just ignore them anyways!

YEAH BABY !! you rock when will this happen ...lol I wish ...I have seen enough of this too , I wonder why religion has such a bad name so often ,I myself do not like it to be crammed down my throat so to speak ... how the heck did she get different names...now isn't that being decitful and I do believe she would have to "lie" to get another account in here ....oops shes busted ...

LOL...and such a good Christian lady like her too! lol Then again, she feels confident in telling those who post anything she doesn't believe in that they are damned to hell so I guess when you know that much you can lie too? LOL
I love to DISCUSS religion but the key is DISCUSSING it. I don't like to FIGHT it. I love to hear about others beliefs and to be honest I have learned so much by dating a man that was Hindu. It opened my eyes beyond amazement and made me realize exactly how alike our religions are instead of how different.

HERE HERE! Kudos to the ignore button all the way. I don't mind people giving opinions, but when they are ignorant as hell, I'm either going to flip out back, which isn't necessarily right, but I don't have any other option, and I will not take sh*t unless I deserve it, so a great option would be to block/ignore someone. Sign me up for that immediately!

You have got a very valid point. I didn't realise that people could use more than one name but I suppose that's because I wouldn't even think about it. Some people have too much time on their hands and should be out in the world doing something more constructive ha!

I guess every member will agree with your point. Mylot has to think for providing with an Ignore button to make this community really live and juicy. Just because of few people, who are here only for annoying & spoiling the whole discussion.
I fully agree with you just like we have the option to choose freinds, we do need to have option for ignoring someone.

Never thought of that but that wouldn't be bad .
Why would anyone go under a bunch of different names , it would in no way help them to earn more money as even if they were under themselves they would only get a percentage of the money and how would this benefit them .

i am so with you!!!! there is one individual who I would love to block for his simple stupidity over making threads like why i hate americans..etc etc. I went back looked at all his other posts what do you know all along the same lines! ugh! so yeah we should so petition them for an ignore button...can't be too hard can it?
