I prefer shower gels because I find that soap leaves my skin itchy and I feel like it is very hard getting the soap residue off my body. Is it difficult to make your own soap? I have never tried soap that was home made but I bet it is better for your skin than the soap we find in the stores.

sure is better! Soaps you purchase at the stores are actually bars of detergent that strip your natural oils & dry your skin.
Its not difficult, very easy! But you must use caution when working with the chemical sodium hydroxide when making soap.

OldBuddy made me respond to this. But I rather use shower gel. WHY? As oldbuddy said he usesbar soap since he was young so it's something he is use to, but when I use bar soap I feel gross. It sits in the shower and collects bacteria just the same as those loffa things do. I rather use a bottled shower gel where the bacteria is kept out and the bottle stays clean and fresh. Wouldn't you?

i couldnt imagine ever using bar soap on my skin again but ive never used homemade soap so mayby its different but i find bar soap so drying to my skin and the body wash i use from the body shop just doesnt leave my skin dry like bar soap used to so i cant imagine ever using it again. Dry skin really bugs me and with todays options for body washes its easier to avoid it

While I grew up using a bar of soap to get clean, I now find that I prefer shower gels. My personal opinion is that shower gels tend to rinse off more completely. I think bar soap tends to be more difficult to rinse off completely. Does anyone else have any comments?

I prefer good old fashioned soap to shower gels. With shower gels, they don't last as long and they feel like I am washing my body with detergent.
