Global Warming- Does this concern us?

I live in Canada, and lately there has been a lot of ice melting in the Artic Circle. Huge sheets of ice are breaking off, and there is more open water than there has ever been in Canada's history as a country. Even the polar bears are having problems, with their hunting season being shortened considerably by the warm temperatures. The winter has been different too. I have lived in the praires all of my life and I can tell the difference, the biggest being the temperature. It's not that I miss bone chilling cold, it's just that it doesnt seem quite right. I wonder how quickly things will change, and I wonder if the Northern Lights will stay the same. Any comments?

I live in the Republic of Ireland and we too have found that are winters aren't as cold and wet anymore. Are summers are definitely getting hotter and lasting longer but i don't think people are really paying much attention to the change in the climates. As we have seen and heard from Australia this year there weather is most certainly getting hotter. They are killing their best cattle just to get beef to sell to people! I don't think there is enough being done to change the way we are treating the effects but then again how can anyone be really certain what we are doing will help and for how long...

You are right, what can we do, and how can we be certain that it really helps. But it does make me wonder now that there is more open water in the artic ocean, than before. Some of the small, unique, northern communities are in danger of being washed away by this. I just think that over time it will be devastating. I wonder what it will be like for my grandchildren. By the way, I love Ireland, and it is my dream to travel there someday. I am proud to be Irish.:)and Canadian, lol.

Yes this does concern me. I read about the ice cap falling off in the water and is now floating around in the area of ships. I think in the future global warming will bring so much devastation to this planet we will all wish we had been more careful. I think it may be to late to tturn back time, but every little bit helps for the future.
