Copy and Paste Cheaters Amongst Us

Well, first let me say, thank you for recognizing it as my response!!!! I seem to have this happen frequently! And because I have this happen to me, I get very offended when a person does it in my discussions and I immediately report and stalk that person's responses just as you did! You are doing a great job at protecting your friends and others here at myLot. So, thank you!!! I am proud to call you my friend!

I've had this happen in my discussions and I've been copied in others. It really pis$es me off when people do this. I'm glad you reported him, that's what I do to. You may have found him just in time so he won't get paid for his stupidity...or at least I hope he wont. I don't think that we will ever stop it but as long as we keep reporting it, mylot can get rid of them quickly. Kudos to you !!

This has happened to me as well as the same user that you mentioned reported to me that someone used one of my comments as well in a discussion so it could happen to any one of us. That is good that you reported this person and we all should do the same if we see members stealing other peoples comments and topics.

Oh yes it happens often, however I have yet to see Mylot actually do anything about it. Those that have done so in my own discussion, that I personaly reported, seem to remain untouched. Makes me wonder why?

I have seen a few copy/pasted responses but not really in my discussions. If I realize that they are copy pasted I will report them. I mean I don't really pay attention to them, but if I find some, I do report them.

How dense can a person get? He seriously copied from the same discussion? Not a very bright cheater in my books. I will keep an eye on this as well. I usually try to post a response and I have not run across it yet.

hmm. who could be that guy? there really are lots of copy pasters in this site. they are the ones who abuse the system. he could have atleast quoted brokentia's response if he had something more to comment or add about rather than claiming it to be his own. you are right to report him to our moderators. that's the best thing to do for now. and who knows! he had cheated many times and copy pasted lots of responses, one day, he might be blocked.

Thank you for letting us know about this person, elusive. It's always so hard to find something like this happening in your discussions. I have had a user paste the exact same thing into multiple discussions that I have started. It was as plain as day since I read the reply notifications one right after the other!!!

I always report them on my discussions too.

I am so getting fed up with hearing of all this copying and pasting of others replies going on .. and what annoys me more is that MyLot don't seems to take any action even when you do report them and give concise details of who's post was copied and what position they were in the discussion .. it really makes it look like MyLot are condoning the cheating .. This is not good MyLot .. if someone is proved to have copied and pasted a reply then someone at MyLot should at least delete the pasted reply ... I can't believe that MyLot continue to let folks get away with it .. it really sends a poor signal to MyLots sponsors .. if they can't deal with such a simply thing ...

I find this so silly for .03 cents (roughly) he does this ...lol I just don't get it ...thanks for letting everyone know we can all be on the look out now ... the scary part is if he will do that for 3 cents what else will he do ..make sure you don't have any personal info for him to see...

I have noticed a few copied discussions as well. One day i would read a discussion from one person and then i would see it again by someone else. I didn't pay any attention to who they were i just rolled my eyes and went on. But now that i see that this is becoming a problem i think we should all do as you. By the way it wasn't just the titles that were the same it was the entire discussion.

I recently learned that you cannot paste on here until you have 500 posts...does he have that many by his name? Just curious.

I haven't come across this in awhile, but when I do, like you I report it, then I check out the other discussions, and if found report it again. I am very well aware that it still does happen. I was just hoping it was less.

Butterfly, I tried to copy and paste something from an informative web site when I first joined and got a message that I was not allowed to do that. I wonder what the criteria is for doing that? I'm sorry that you had problems with a respondant and I hope things work out ~Donna

It can be funny, though, when they accidentally paste the wrong answer into the wrong discussion. I know the less amusing part is that they are getting paid for it. But if you are going to cheat, at least have a half a brain. I wonder if plagerism law would be in effect in this situtation??

Thanks for the warning. I don't know why people waste their time and effort to copy and paste for low rate of pay they get in return...but then again I suppose if they can copy and paste about 100 responses per hour then they'll get a fairly decent payout. But surely there's more productive ways they can use their time if their here solely for the money. I'm always so paranoid that after i've read through people's responses in a topic that I intend to reply on, I accidently copy part of what someone else has written. It seems like i've got nothing to worry about when there are people going around deliberately copying responses like this.

I don't understand why people would do this. I mean myLot is supposed to be a place where you can share your OWN opinions right? That person is actually defeating the purpose of being here. Sigh. Sometimes, the things people do are really hard to comprehend. Looks like he's just after the money. =(

Are we going to name and shame the sinner??? Or even post some evidence of these atrocities on here? Thanks for the watchful eye though Butterfly...
