Ok whats your take in the ongoing saga between Donald trump and rosie Odonell?
I for one applaud miss USA tara for admitting her problem and for getting help. I saw tonight on ET where rosie mocked tara for crying as she said thanks Mr trump for giving me a chance. I dont think you need to kick someone when they are down. Those in recovery need support and friends, regardless of who they are!
Whats your opinion?

In my opinion, Rosie shouldn't have made fun of Tara, but she does work on "The View". It is her job to talk about her view.
I also applaud Tara for admitting her problem, but I don't thik she should've been able to maintain her title. The rules are very clear for this title, and I, for one, am sick of the rules changing all the time. That girl is to be a role model for our youth. I want my daughter to be able to see that there are consequences for your actions. I feel for anyone who has addictions, and I believe they do need support, but this is sending a bad message to our youth. Professionals don't take the rules seriously anymore, because the payoff is greater than the consequence. If people were consisently held accountable for their actions we wouldn't have the problems we have in the world today.

I guess the longer I think about it, the problem I have is that it isn't like the girl just came forward and admitted her problem and sought help. She got caught. She was all over the media carousing and drinking and being less than "royal" in her behavior. When we "admit" our problem AFTER we get caught on film and exposed publicly and when we seek treatment because we have no other option than to lose everything, how big of a hero are we, after all? That's just somebody backed into a corner, doing the only thing they have left to do in order to salvage some speck of dignity, if there's any to be had. Not exactly worthy of applause, I am afraid.

Very true Rahleah. I think people take Rosie too seriously. She's a comedian and host of a show called "The View". Rosie did what she does, and Donald Trump responded like a big baby. He also faults Barbara, and says she's a liar & has lost a good friend. Suppose Barbara did say that about Rosie, how is Donald a good friend by going public with a private conversation between friends?

thats so true. I just didnt think her comment mocking the Miss USA going to recovery was appropriate. Most people in addiction need support and friends.
It was so beyond childish!

I think it "went away" when Rosie made up her mind to refuse to continue to bat the ball back in his direction. He managed to continue it alone for a few weeks after she refused to comment further, which was amusing in and of itself. I don't think her original remarks were a publicity stunt, but I do think his reaction to them WAS. He had a new show coming out and stood to gain from the publicity. Perhaps the same reason he held the big pompous press conference on Tara and handed out his "much awaited" judgment, instead of just quietly allowing her to seek treatment. All publicity for him and his show.

I think they both have big mouths. Rosie is just not afraid to open hers. I live The Donald, but like Rosie said, he's no moral compass.

I have always liked Donald but in this case I think he totally crossed the line with his comments about Rosie. I wish he would have take the high road and not made any personal attacks against her. I just don't think any man should talk about any woman like that.
I don't think Rosie should have made her comments about Tara either though. I agree with you.. it isn't right to kick someone when they are down like that.

I saw her comments. She never said she thought the girl didn't deserve another chance. She mocked Donald for being so pompous as to think that he can live such a flawed life but yet be the person who gets to be "the moral compass," as she put it, for girls Tara's age. The girl was never the target of her diatribe. She did mock Trump pretty severely, but hey, he's a big boy and a public figure and can take it. And, she's a comedian, above all else. I don't think her original remarks were so bad, and they were funny. His replies were all very mean spirited. She isn't perfect and does make mistakes, but he blew this out of proportion and attacked her for something that most Americans are guilty of and can't seem to overcome -- being fat. So, that's when he hit a nerve with the viewing public.
