i'm bored and there are no interesting discussions so i thought i would start one, but i can't think of anything interesting so heres some facts:
1) Penguins used to have the ability to fly but as the world got colder it became harder to do and eventually they stopped all together
2) football, the worlds most popular sport was invented by Sir Issac Newton
3) there's more vitamins in a culiflower than an orange
4) table tennis was orginally played by standing on a very large table and volleying the ball to each other, the idea was to avoid falling off at all costs even when confronted with a tough shot, the sport never took off in its home country of Sri Lanka, mainly because it was only ever played by 2 people but when they decided to stand on the floor and hit the ball across the table the common form of the game began
5) The largest single collection of teddy bears in the world was owned by Saddam Hussein until most were destroyed after the museum holding them was bombed
6) The french use less soap than any other nation in the world
7) george W Bush has the highest IQ of any world leader!
8) charcoal can be turned into coal through a process known as decharcolisation
9) Willy Wonka was based on the then British prime minister Will Wonkaly how was famous for his wacky dress sense and fondness for riddles
10) People will believe anything you tell them

You are a poop for number ten. ha ha
Now you are going to make me research to see if any of the things you listed are true. LOL
How about this one...
People say that all polar bears are left handed...but it is not true.
There was a research done...and was hard to find. But the legit research found that MOST polar bears are left handed. But they also found that those that were right handed had a hard time hunting. Because they were taught by a left handed polar bear to cover their eyes to conceal themselves and to swipe with the left. The left being the dominant hand...or paw in their case. But the bears that were naturally right handed would become confused and would try to swipe with their right and cover their eyes with the left and then would struggle with which paw to swipe with and which to cover their eyes with.
So, if you ever hear a person that says polar bear is left handed...you now know it is not true. :)

the french not using soap one could be true. I stole that from an article from a British newspaper, i think it was in the 80s and we weren't getting on with the French (much like most other centuries). Anyway got side tracked. Yes the article claimed that the average frenchman only uses two bars of soap a year, whereas the average britain uses 7 (not sure how true it was though).
