Going to California - Pasadena and Anaheim - Need suggestions

I am going to Californa to Pasadena and Anaheim for 5 days the end of this month. I'd love to have some suggestions from people who live there or who have been there as to what to do and where to go. Where are the best restaurants, things to see, etc.

I grew up in Anaheim. There is Disney of course. You could also check out Knot's Berry Farm. Pasadena is kinda a college town. There are lots of indie theaters and book stores. Pasadena isn't too far from L.A. and the beaches. The LaBrea Tar Pits are pretty cool ... also the Santa Monica Pier.

I actually did go to the tar pits, the pier and loved Pasadena. Didn't go to any theme parks but drive by a few. Thanks for your suggestions.
