What makes a good Grandma and Grandpa?

I have 8 kids, 5 still at home. I have 5 grandchildren.So I am speaking as a Grandma. A good grandparent is loving, makes the child feel safe, supportive, fun and someone who knows how to make a child feel good about theirself.From the start, I have let my grandkids know things I expect and have stuck to them, as far as behavior. As a grandma, I sometimes think I have a bit more patience. That may come from the fact of knowing I am dealing with any misbehavour on a short term basis. I try to instill values in my grandkids.I try to take time just to sit and talk to them, one on one.They know that they can trust me and talk to me about anything. Hope that helps.
