Me and my girlfriend are both 9-5 workers but are extremely interested in getting a dog or puppy. If there are any experienced dog owners out there, what is a good breed for our schedule? Do we just have to accept the fact that our schedules do not allow us the ability to raise a dog or puppy?

I think it depends on certain things. Will it be an inside dog? Do you have a fenced yard? Will you have the time to devote to a dog once you both get home from work? There are many great breeds out there but I would have to know a little bit more before I can truly give you my opinion. But many people make time for animals even if they work full time.

No, I dont think so, I work 8-5 daily and I've been taking care of a black labrador for about a year now, and as far as the vet is concerned, she is in good health. The trick is you should supply your pet what he needs- clean and wide space, proper diet, water, exercise and something to keep him busy.
1. clean and wide space- if you're going to take care of a pup/a dog, and your schedule doesn't allow you to look after him all the time, you should not keep him in a cage, but instead, give him room to move around.
2.proper diet- you should feed him atleast a couple of times a day- in your schedule, around 8 in the morning and 6/7 at night. No table food, just follow the proper feeding for the particular age. Vitamins daily also is important.
3. Clean water- Plenty of clean drinking water is important.
4. Exercise- You should have time for him, atleast 30 minutes in the morning and about an hour at night.
5.Something to keep him busy- buy him 3 or 4 sets of toys, one set a day, to keep him from getting bored during daytime that you are not around.
Be sure to have him see a vet atleast once a month while he is still a pup to check on his health conditions...
I hope this info will be helpful...
