I would first ask you if your son preferred to sleep on his stomach or back? Our son preferred his stomach and it took him a lot long to start walking. We had talked to others that said the same thing.
Now we are chasing him all over the place. Chasing him off the road, pulling him off cupboards. LOL

Let's see. My son started cruising (walking while holding on to something) at only 7 months. But he really walked on his own only at 15 months. I was quite worried at the time because other moms were telling me that their child walked before they were one. But now, my son (14 months) walks all around the place! He doesn't want to be carried anymore!
I realized then that as long as he reaches his milestones on time (15 months is still okay), I didn't really have to worry. As parents, we sometimes want our kids to be "advanced" in development, but really, it's not necessary.
Enjoy your baby, his development, his growth. They are only babies once, so you want to savor every minute of it. Don't hurry him up. He'll walk when he's ready. Enjoy it while he still wants to be carried and cuddled. :)

my son started walking at 9 months, trust me on this, older is better. they are smarter and less likely to get in to trouble.
While you are waiting- crawl around on the floor. My son got a nasty cut on his head from a screw attachng a leg to the kitchen table.
You have time now, get into every nook and cranny and start baby proofing.

DS took his first steps at 10.5 months, and was walking primarily by 11 months. Now he's 13 and runs all over!

My Son staterd walking a week before his first birthday. after they statrs walking you'll have no rest, it s a good workout. you dont have to worry about getting additional excerises. So enjoy while you can. The timings of each activity depends on various aspects of the family. Some walk really late, so dont worry

My first born had alot of problems so she walked really late but my son started at around ten months trying to get around. He would hold on to things and walk around. he was so funny trying to get from the chair to the couch. He would just kinda fall over , he reminded me of that charmin commercial with the baby and the little dog. I just wanted to wrap his butt in charmin because he fell so many times it had to hurt lol

Once they start walking its all over. Mine is 19 months old now and my 3rd. Nothing like my 1st two. He started walking at 13months old, but now he is into everything. He is tall for his age so he can now open doors, climb, you name it. Its exciting when they first start walking but once they have mastered it, WACH OUT!!!!!

My son started walking at 7 months. It all depends on when you or the baby's father started walking! All I can say is good luck when your baby starts walking! you'll be chasing after him all over the place! lol! It's a good work out! :)
