It isn't just email. Telephones and cell phones are also being monitored. Not everyones of course, but it could be anyone's. Also your web activities are subject to scrutiny, so make sure those models are all over 18 ;)
Here's a nice tidbit I ran across a week or so back...apparently if you have a fairly new cell phone, it can be used remotely to monitor what you say in your house. The only way around it is to remove the battery.
Before you say no way, consider this...if you let the right type of trojan get on your computer, and you have a webcam, that webcam can be used to spy on you without your knowledge.
The same principle applies with these cell phones, except it involves a chip that is installed by the manufacturer.
Since the phones are registered, guess who has no problem getting all the information they need to activate that chip.
We already know that satellite phones can by used as a targeting aid.
It would be no different then the V-Chip in your TV.
Isn't technology grand ?

Wow, that would be interesting. I sure hope that my tax dollars aren't paying some overweight FBI agent to read all this spam! If so, I sure hope he/she is enjoying reading about how to increase the size of their male 'organ' and to loose 40 pounds in 2 days! Seriously, I would imagine that they could if they felt that there a particular person was a threat to our country's security. But to sit and peruse the average joe-blow's email, I highly doubt it!

I dont believe so, and if they did, they would be either bored silly or laughing from the emailed jokes I get. Seriously I dont think they can or do.

Are you talking about e-mails? As far as I am aware, the FBI has no authority to read anyone's personal e-mail unless they have a warrant and reason to suspect that they would be connected to a federal or international crime. I could be wrong, but I believe this is still true. I'll be interested to see what others say in response to this post.
