white shoes after labor day.....what dose that mean...

I think it comes from past generation styles. I remember hearing my grandmother saying it.
Of course, now there is "Winter White".
I thing you should wear what you want, when you want. If you like it, and you feel it looks good on you, then wear it.
I only own one pair of white shoes (tennis shoes), but that is just my personality. I like more natural colors, like brown and black leather. I did have a pair of boots that were a very light brown, almost an ivory color. But that was in the 80's, I have changed, so I would not wear them now.
