To tell you frankly I haven't voted since the time of President Ramos. Why? Because I'm fed up with the kind of politics the Philippines has. It's always Traditional Politicians or Showbiz Personalities that runs for office, even "The Pacman" is running in his hometown. If only I got money to migrate to another country, I would have done it long time ago.

Yes definitely. Voting is where we Filipinos can exercise our sovereign power. Sovereignty resides in the people and all other power emanate from them. Every Election is the grandest display of people's sovereignty and i want to be part of it. We all don't like the TRAPOS the DYNASTY families who run our political system, then we should do something about it. How? Voting in election is the safest, peaceful mean to do that. We want to kick those robbers out of office, let us not vote for them in election. We hate those who are liars, then let us not give them another chance to hold power. Voting is OUR RIGHT! Let us exercise it!

Yes, I agree with you. It is the right of every Filipino to vote. But my question is, who should we trust? Looking at the lists of candidates, its either they are TRAPOS or CELEBRITIES, that's why I wont vote. It's my right also.

I guess if they change the current voting system, and make a system that is really fool proof or nearly fool proof, I'll vote again. Until then I'm practicing my right NOT to vote.

exercising your right to vote doesn't necessarily mean you're perpetuating traditional and actor-filled politics. There are some good politicians. Research on their track record and weigh in if they deserve your vote. I myself haven't voted for since I turned 18, except when my grandmother needed someone to keep her company in the voting precinct. I didn't sign up last December. It would be nice if I did because I was planning to go where politicians distribute money and other goods in return for their ballots. I wouldn't vote him but I sure would get them apples. lol. richard gomez has lost his mind if he thinks he'll get my vote. lol.

Speaking of Richard Gomez, he's running as an Independent because both sides don't want him. Serves him right :)

I will vote and personally monitor the counting in my area even if I'm not part of any party of poll watchers.
I'll ovte for worthy people like Escudero, Cayetano...not the corrupt people.

its to hard to complain if ur not practicing ur right to vote...if i we're u just vote to the person u know is capable to seat as a president if u dont vote ur losing one vote. dont give-up and be disappointed..ur right to vote needs to practice. if 10 people in the room and 8 did not practice there right u giving a chance to change something in the future.. So if the election come...go out and practice ur right..vote for the right person...dont let someone cheated and take ur right.

i wasn't able to register last december, that's why i won't be able to vote. but frankly, even if i have registered myself up, i won't vote for anyone. everyone's being too greedy, and "balimbing" just to get into position. just like that Richard Gomez. before, he's criticizing our President Arroyo, and now he's running on the administration side?! the nerve! he won't win this election. i'm sure most people know what he's done. although some actors/actresses should be give a chance, we should pick our candidates wisely.

Richard Gomez supposed to be in the Opposition line-up but unfortunately he wasn't included that's why he jumped to the Administration ticket. The line-up for the Administration ticket isn't finalized yet so Richard is still has no party. I hope the Administration dumped him too, hehehe.

Well why not it our right to vote. If my vote is counted or not isn't important to me as long as I exercise my right. My participation to politics ends there. As to election protests and everything I leave that to the political parties and everything.

I understand your frustration, but then again how can these TRAPOS be thrown away if we're not going to participate? As long as we Filipinos would often let other do our share of work, then there won't be a hope in these country. We are given the right to vote so why not use it? If all Filipinos would have the same notion and would rather not vote, then why should our country be democratic? Why don't we just have a parliament system, since we don't want to do our part as a citizen? All i'm saying is that we are lucky that we are living in a democratic country, so we should be proud of that system that we have. Rather than the other countries like CHINA. Although I must say even though CHINA is not a democratic country, people in that country are very much discipline and they pay respect to their leaders.
