I don't mean just voodoo from new orleans where they create zombies and make dolls to torture you and things like that. This includes things like the Thais and their curses. A lot of people go to Thailand to wash away whatever curses because they believe that they've been hexed. In Asian society, black magic is an integral part of life..especially with the Taoists. We have something here called "loktang". Usually takes place in a house that's filled with altars and deities' statues and such. I've seen this and the guy started talking in a girl's voice, supposedly one of the deities. Of course, maybe he just changed his voice. My question is, do you believe that people can be hexed or cursed? Or if voodoo dolls really work? You know, things like that.

to a certain point, yes i believe that such things really work. the reason such things like curses etc. seem to work, is the minds ability to fool itself. if you really believe that someone cursed you, then everything that goes bad you will automatically blame on the "curse". it is logical to you because you believe you've been cursed. however if you dont believe in it at all, then it wont affect you. you will attribute anything bad that might happen to coincidence instead. the power of the mind is incredible when you consider things like medical miracles. ppl honestly believe that someone/thing can heal them...and many really have been "healed" of their affliction...even cancer patients!

It's all in your mind. what you belive ,you recive. Faith is the subsance of thing's hoped for and the evedence of thing's not seen. A universal law. Like gravity...you don't have to belive in it ,it just exists. You can bless or curse...through the power of your mouth. Speaking what is'nt as though it were untill it is. I could go on and on,but I'm not here to get a preach on.LOL

I like that phrase. "speaking what isn't as though it were until it is" I don't know what I believe in. I'm just asking what others are thinking; with reference to the topic.

OOhh definitely.. I've seen pple who are actually possessed.. Once they are cured.. they have no memory of what had happened at all... Not sure if you know what "Bomoh" are.. but basically there are bad and good "Bomohs".. These pple can be hired to do bad things to satisfy their clients desire.. for eg.. to caste a black magic to a nearby food stall so that their own might prosper.. I know coz my aunt had the same experience, her business suddenly went downhill after she discovered "soil" in front of her stall. After consulting a good "Bomoh" she was told it was soil from the cemetary..her business never recovered.. So, YES, i do believe in hexes and curses.. call me old fashioned but saw it too many times NOT to believe.

AHA! Now I know what to do to my competitors!! YESSS *mwahhahahahah mwahahahahah* lol :) Nah, I've heard that before, putting cemetary soil infront of people's houses/shops/stalls. Didn't think that it actually works. And yeah! I definitely know what a Bomoh is, though I've never met one.

You ah....heheh.. any cementary soil would not do.. you have to get the "Bomoh' to do something to it... to put a curse to it.. it's like a medium...an interface.. ok..

The first and last time I've ever used a Oiuja board was in a monastery. It was very freaky, lights when out and everything that would scare people happened, the only thing I got out of that was a warning and guardian angel named Marcus, who lived in the year of 1816 he was only 10 years. Since then I've always been fortunate to see my own future. Basically, anything that was to cross my path, I've been lucky to see it happen before it really happen. Before Marcus left, he gave me the gift and yes I could see Marcus in ghost form. For all I knew, he could have been the devil in disguise.

In the monastery there were 10 of us, from catholic high school, yeah, I know... we're not non-believers now. That's why we tried it. "Curiosity killed the cat", At first nothing did happen... as far as most of us saw... then the light went out, it was raining.. as it was raining I was mesmerized by the ghostly sight I saw outside.. it was a little kid about 10 yrs., and I knew we were on the second floor, so seeing hime there was freakish enough. Unfortunately I was the only one that could see him. My friends told me that when I was talking to him, it had seemed like I was in a trance of kind. He even picked me up... that was freaky for them. Since then we vowed not to use anything like ever again.

I personally very much believe that the unbelievable is real and very much shouldn't played with. Black magic, white magic, voodoo, psychics, esp, visions etc., you should be very careful when practicing with these, if you're not experienced with them. Do not bother trying... even for fun! Hexes and curses are as real as they come.

Okay. Goddit. I've always wondered about that. We played with an ouija board once when I was younger. It did move but I suspected that my friend was moving it then. Thinking back, maybe she wasn't. Who's to know now eh? I'm not gonna try it again lol

Voodoo - Voodoo and black magic can these actually exisit and harm people?
Well although many do believe in this kind of practice me personally I dont. I think we make our own luck and so on but the power of peoples minds can be an amazing thing. I think some people are acceptable to the idea and its all in their heads.

Believers - Movie about a voodoo cult that sacrifices children
I think a lot of things in this world exist whether or not we choose to believe it. I saw a movie called Believers a couple of years ago. It was about voodoo. It really scared me.

Yeah Voodou really exists..well at least I, and quite a few others do. It's one of the systems of magick I've still yet to study myself..so I can't say a whole lot more than that. Though I know that voodoo dolls are a part of sympathetic magick..not ALWAYS done for bad things..in fact, in my experience alot of people tend to use them for good things. *shrugs* Anyway..I always dislike condemning an entire system of magick, or people who practice for what only a few have done. Zombies falls into necromancy technically I think..since what people do to the people that become 'zombies' is foul..and at least some part of them gets killed..but yeah, curses exist. Some people cast them. But not everyone does, not all of voodoo is evil. In fact alot of it's not I believe.. There are a few bad apples among practitioners..it's unfortunate..but the world's diverse..good and bad, and everywhere in between. I'm rambling I think now, but that's my opinion on the subject.

Just try to learn a little about Benin in west Africa and if you get the opportunity one day just visit this country and you'll be surprise about the popularity of this religion in Benin.

Yes, hexes and curses exist, but I'm more concerned with the situations you have just brought up in Asia regarding magic. Is it really that prevalent and is it an inspiration to the popular music of the day? And exactly what is Thailand like? I would love to know more.
